Release 2.0.22
VP Player - Release 2.0.22
The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:
Release Notes for Client 2.0.22
Feature: Demand Manager
We are excited to introduce a major update to Demand Manager, bringing header bidding ad integration to the VP Player. This feature is designed to help users optimize ad revenue and enhance content monetization by allowing multiple demand sources to bid in real time.
Feature: Detailed Error Information for Failed Video File Inputs
Input files with errors (e.g., corrupt or invalid formats) will now be blocked from entering the encoding process, preventing unnecessary processing and providing users with clarity on the source of the issue. (api only)
Feature: Contextual Playlist Type
We are excited to announce the introduction of a new playlist type called Contextual Playlist. This feature allows users to create dynamic playlists tailored to specific tags and timeframes, enhancing content discovery and engagement.
Update: Fallback to Podcast Thumbnail for Episodes Without a Thumbnail
Apple and Spotify handle metadata differently. If an episode did not have a custom thumbnail, Spotify would automatically display the podcast’s main thumbnail, whereas Apple did not. To address this, VP now ensures that episodes without a custom image are automatically updated to display the podcast’s main thumbnail across all platforms.
FIX: Thumbnail of the Video Fails to Update on First Try
Release Notes for Player v.2.1.1 & v.2.2.0
- Feature: Add 5% and 10% Listen Progress Events to Audio Player
Update: Ad Playback Behavior Update
In v.2.2.0 of the player, when using the ad schedule with preroll and having autostartOnLoad and autostartOnViewable options off, pressing play on the video will now start the ad unmuted. This improvement enhances the user experience by ensuring ads can be heard immediately upon playback.
FIX: Ad Spot Visibility Update
In player v2.1.1 and higher, ad spots will no longer appear in the timeline over locked sections of videos. Ad spots will only be visible in the timeline of the free sections, enhancing clarity for all viewers.
FIX:Premium User Ad-Free Experience Update
In player v2.1.1 and higher, premium users will no longer see any ad spots in the timeline during videos. The timeline will be completely ad-free.
FIX: The logo should not be hidden if the unmute button is not in the top
Addressed an issue in player v.2.1.1 and higher regarding logo visibility. The logo in the top left corner will now remain visible at smaller breakpoints, even when the unmute icon is not displayed, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience.
FIX: Logo is incorrectly displayed during ads
Fixed an issue in player v2.1.1 and higher where the logo remained visible during ad playback, even when overlapped by the unmute icon. The logo will no longer be displayed at all during ads, ensuring a cleaner viewing experience.
Release Notes for Vertical Player
Update: Title and Description in Vertical player adjustment
Updated the spacing and sizing of titles and descriptions. Descriptions now display up to 2 rows by default, and a "Show more" button to expand the full text. A "Less" button will collapse the description back to 2 rows.
FIX: White Line Appears on Right Side of Video in Mobile Browsers (Safari & Chrome)
White line appeared on the right side of the video when viewed on mobile browsers (Safari and Chrome) in vertical player mode. The video now correctly fills the entire display, ensuring a seamless viewing experience without gaps
