Release Notes for Client 2.0.6

Features

  • Feature: Search Option Implemented in Localization Settings for Video and Audio Players.
    • Search option is added in the Localization Settings for Video and Audio Players to make it easier for users to quickly find the setting they are looking for.
  • Feature: New localization setting specifically for the 'Up Next' video is added.
    • Users have the flexibility to personalize the "Up Next" text according to their preferences.
  • Feature: Webhooks for Podcasts and Playlists
    • Now, VP supports webhooks for podcasts and playlists in the same way as we do for videos, live videos, and more. This enhancement allows seamless integration and real-time updates.
  • Feature: RTMP Pull
    • Until now, VP has been supporting RTMP push for live streams. From this release and on, we are thrilled to announce the addition of RTMP pull support. This enhancement expands live streaming capabilities, providing the user with more options and flexibility.
  • Feature: Direct Download of Original Video File
    • VP now supports the ability to download the original file of any video directly from the edit page of the video.
  • Feature: Add Episodes to Podcasts from the Audio Edit Page
    • Now you can add episodes to podcasts directly from the Audio Edit Page. Here's how: Below the audio player preview, you'll find an input field that lists all available podcasts. You can choose one or more podcasts to add the episode to. The episode will be added as the first one in the selected podcast, reflecting in the RSS feed and player as well.

Upgrades

  • Upgrade: Updated the calculation method for the average watch time metric.
    • Previously, it was displayed on a scale from 1 to 10. Now, it is calculated based on the total watch time divided by the number of plays.
  • Upgrade: VOD Analytics
    • In this release, the analytics for VOD are updated. These updates aim to provide the user with a more comprehensive and flexible understanding of their video content's performance. Here are the key improvements:
      1. Design and Layout:
        • The design is updated for a better user experience.
        • Plays are now displayed as Views.
        • Time watched per viewer is displayed as the Average View Duration.
        • Watch time is new, representing the total time viewers spent watching the video.
        • Top countries and top devices are now included, each presented with a graphical representation.
      2. Live Viewer Graph:
        • The live viewer graph remains unchanged, displaying the number of live viewers over the last two minutes. Three data points are supported on the graph: one reflects the number of live viewers two minutes ago, another for one minute ago, and the third for the current moment.
      3. Average View Duration:
        • Average view duration is now shown both as a numeric value and a percentage.
        • Detailed tracking allows you to see how many views the video accumulates in each second/minute.
      4. Filter Options:
        • All data can be conveniently filtered for today, the last 7 days, last month, last 2 months, last 3 months, or customized time frames.
        • Please note that filtering is not available for periods before the video was uploaded.
      5. Live Viewer Stability:
        • Live viewers remain static and are unaffected by applied filters.
        • Other metrics dynamically adjust based on the selected filters.
  • Upgrade: Live Videos Analytics
    • In this release, the analytics for Live Videos are updated. These updates aim to provide the user with a more comprehensive and flexible understanding of their video content's performance. Here are the key improvements:
      1. Design and Layout:
        • The design is updated for a better user experience.

        • Top countries, top devices and Top Browsers are now included, each presented with a graphical representation.
      2. Live Viewer Graph:
        • The live viewer graph remains unchanged, displaying the number of live viewers over the last two minutes. Three data points are supported on the graph: one reflects the number of live viewers two minutes ago, another for one minute ago, and the third for the current moment.
      3. Filter Options:
        • All data can be conveniently filtered for today, the last 7 days, last month, last 2 months, or customized time frames.
        • Please note that filtering is not available for periods before the video was uploaded.
      4. Live Viewer Stability:
        • Live viewers remain static and are unaffected by applied filters.
        • Other metrics dynamically adjust based on the selected filters.
      5. Total Clips Created:
        • This new feature contains a list of all videos generated during the livestream using the stop and cut feature.
        • Embedding is available for the videos created from this livestream. The duration of each video is also displayed in this box.
  • Upgrade: Redesigned Usage History Page
    • The redesign of the usage history page is updated for a more consistent design, aiming an improved user interface tailored specifically for VP users.
  • Upgrade: Enhanced Login Performance
    • In this release, the login experience in VP has been optimized to make accessing the account faster and more efficient.
  • Upgrade: When the audio-only option is selected, the user is unable to change the video quality.
  • Upgrade: The element image will not be displayed in the RSS feed if it is empty.
  • Upgrade: Added support for .srt subtitles

Fixes

  • FIX: The player’s logo is non-removable
    • In this release, the issue is addressed: after a user uploads a logo for the player, the logo is non-removable.
  • Feature: Adding episodes directly from the audio details to the podcast.
  • FIX: The JSON captured the day of the month instead of the minutes.

Video Player v2.0.6

Fixes

  • FIX: Manually paused video should remove listening for autostartEvent
    • Technical note: Previously the video would auto start each time it came into view if “autostartOnViewable” was configured, now we’ve changed it so that a paused video will ignore its autostart properties and the control falls on the user.
  • FIX: 4K icon is not properly displayed in the player
    • Technical note: This was caused be a deprecated icon, we have since updated all our quality icons.
  • FIX: Ad n/n is not translated in the floating player
    • Technical note: There was an issue on small sized player, in this case the floating player where the text informing of ad progress was static, now only the numbers(n/n) will appear to follow more concise styling.
  • FIX: Remove the option to select qualities when the user chooses 'audio only option.
  • FIX: Player should not pause immediately when tapping the center on the mobile.
    • Technical note: Previously on mobile view, when the controls were not visible and the user would press on the center the video would pause even though the user couldnt see the play/pause button. Now the user needs to press 2 times, once to display the controls and once to press play/pause.

Vertical Player v1.0.1

  • FEATURE: Vertical Player scroll
    • Technical note: Added scroll functionality for the vertical player interface on mobile devices. This feature enhances user interaction, allowing users to navigate through video content by swiping vertically.
