Release 2.0.8

VP Player - Release v.2.0.8

The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:

Client v2.0.8:

  • Upgrade: Optimizing Player control buttons on mobile.
    • Updated sizes on mobile view of Player controls. Specifically on embed page.
  • FIX: Video dissapears when you try to go fullscreen.
    • Some users were experiencing issues on specific android devices. Was caused by the Player handling of “fullscreen sizing” for different aspect-ratios of displays. Exiting fullscreen by gestures did not call the reseting of Player size so the Player “disappeared”. Added proper listener for gestures to fix issue.
  • Added: Custom overlays.
    • Added custom overlays. Now the Player offers the possibility of displaying custom text on screen based on specific time ranges (0 - video duration) given by the user. The position (1-9. 1 = top left, 9 = bottom right) of said overlay can also be customized.
  • Upgrade: Livestream re-connectivity and proper custom-screen handling.
    • Since changes have been made to the livestream encoding and handling from the backend, the player has updated its re-connection (in case of stream interruptions) handling. Further more the custom-screens for ended, interrupted and started have been combined into one.
  • Added: Interactibility between all VP media players (vpPlayer, vpAudioPlayer and vpVerticalPlayer).
    • All 3 of the current media players have the option to pause other players of the same time if the user presses play on a specific player. Now if “pause other videos/audios” is turned on, pressing play on that player will pause all other types of players in that page. E.g: If a video Player (VP) and audio Player (AP) are both used on the same page, pressing play on VP (assuming they have pauseOtherVideos: true) will pause audio on AP.

Upgrade: Dashboard update

The new update of dashboard includes key metrics such as Stream, Encoded Minutes, Storage, Ad Impressions, and Embeds per project at the top of the page.

For all users, including content editors, "Live Consumption" provides real-time data for video, live video, audio, and podcasts over the last 24 hours. Additionally, data on "Top Countries" and "Top Devices" is available.

In the "Top Content" section, rankings for Videos, Podcasts, Audios, and Top Live Videos are showcased. Click "See All" to redirect to the respective listing pages.

Effortlessly add new videos, audios, podcasts, and channels directly from the dashboard. Receive progress notifications in the bottom left corner when adding new media.
