The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:

  • Feature: Share URL for videos

    • A share URL is a customized link that can be associated with a video to redirect viewers to a designated destination after they share the video on social media or other platforms. If a custom share URL is not provided, the player will share the site location where that video is embedded.
    • Note: This feature is available in normal players starting from version 2.2.24 and in vertical players starting from version 1.0.0.

  • Feature: Subtitle - sound inversion feature for the vertical player.

    • Note: This feature is supported in player version 1.0.0 and higher.

  • Update: Updated the implementation to increase the default quality of video thumbnails to 1080p upon upload.

  • Update: When contextual recommendations playlist sort type is by relevance, videos which have a higher tag match appear first.

  • Update: Duplicate Input Is Not Encoded

    • To optimize resource usage, VP prevents the same input from being encoded more than once within 24 hours. If an identical input is detected, the system will return the existing videoId instead of starting a new encoding process.

  • Update: Added Encoding Started and Encoding Finished Times For Each Asset.

  • Update: Localizations for Paywall Restrictions have been added. In the admin, the localization fields can be found under the Restrictions section in Localization tab.

  • Update: Subtitle Sizing

    • Adjusted the subtitles sizes for smaller video players to improve readability.
