The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:

Player v2.0.4:​

Upgrades​

  • UPGRADE: Add manual quality change on safari
    • The ability to select different qualities has been added by manually changing the video source on quality change.
  • UPGRADE: Player design changes
    • Changed fonts, icons, color scheme and better styling on different-sized players,

Fixes​

  • FIX: Floating player ads bug
    • Handled ads player that was created by the advertising container.
  • FIX: Floating player causing visual glitch
    • Fixed bug where the player would jump when going to a floating state, this was caused by iframes created by the advertising container.

Features​

  • FEATURE: Webhooks Enhancements
    • Introduced updates into our webhooks logic, enriching the webhooks by adding additional filters and categorizing them into categories such as video, player, ad schedules, live videos, live channels, audio, and audio player, added retry logic and logging on webhooks
  • FEATURE: Auto-Generate video thumbnails
    • The new release includes a feature that allows users to generate three video thumbnails to choose from automatically. This feature enhances the visual representation of videos and allows users to select the most suitable thumbnail for their content.
  • FEATURE: VP Player Inspector
    • Introducing VP Player Inspector, a tool designed to assist clients in testing playback, quality, buffers, statistics, and more across different versions of the player. This tool helps clients identify issues and perform comprehensive checks.

Upgrades​

  • UPGRADE: Admin design changes
    • We have made upgrades to the admin design to make it more user-friendly and improve the overall user experience.
  • UPGRADE: Podcast updates
    • Overall updates have been made to podcast management, introducing new metadata for improved management and connectivity with podcast platforms
  • UPGRADE: Import podcasts through the RSS link
    • You can now import podcasts directly from other podcast platforms to VP Player by using the RSS link.
  • UPGRADE: Visibility privacy of videos
    • Introducing visibility controls for VP Player Videos to prevent them from being included in any playlist, or used without being the final version.
