Release 2.0.30

The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:

  • Feature: signedUrl Parameter for Controlling Secure Token in API Response

    • The signedUrl parameter is now available in the Get Video Assets and Get Audio Assets API endpoints. This boolean parameter determines whether the returned streaming URLs include a secure token. When set to false, streaming URLs will be returned without the secure token, even if secure tokens are enabled for the project.
    • Developers can refer to the Secure Token Documentation for guidance on how to manually generate signed URLs.

  • Feature: Secure Token Display in Project Settings

    • The General tab in VP Player's Project Settings now includes a section to easily view and copy the secure token from project settings.
    • For more details, refer to the User-Guide here.

  • Update: Pinned Player Pre-Selected in Embed Flow

    • When a player is pinned, it will now be automatically pre-selected as the default in the embed configuration flow.

  • Update: Pre-live Cover Automatically Replaced with Project Custom Cover

    • Pre-live thumbnails are now automatically swapped with the project-level custom case cover before stream start. This feature must first be enabled at the project level.

  • Update: Clickable Top Videos and Live Videos in Dashboard

    • The Top Videos and Top Live Videos dashboard widgets are now interactive and link directly to the video detail pages.

Vertical Player​

  • Feature: Ad Configuration for Vertical Player

    • Vertical Player instances now support dedicated ad configuration settings.

  • Feature: Vertical Video Monetization

    • Vertical videos are now eligible for monetization when ad settings are configured and enabled.

Video Player​

  • Feature: Device Pixel Ratio Configuration
    • When enabled in the VP Player Admin, the adaptive bitrate algorithm adjusts the video resolution based on the device’s pixel ratio. This ensures a more accurate resolution capping and improved quality on high-DPI/Retina displays.
