The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:

  • Feature: Automatic Inclusion of Future Subfolders in Playlists

    • When adding folders to a playlist, a folder can now be selected together with all of its future subfolders, so newly created subfolders join the playlist automatically. A redesigned tree-based folder picker makes it easy to choose a single folder or a folder with all current and future subfolders, and adapts to smaller viewports. A new v2 Playlist API carries the structured folder selection.

  • Feature: Folder Details in Playlist Responses

    • Every video returned by the playlist endpoint now includes its folder (id and name), for all playlist types.

  • Update: Localisable "Video Preparing" Message

    • The title and description shown while a video is still being prepared can now be localised per player, alongside the existing localisable player messages.

  • Update: Clearer Guidance While a Video Is Processing

    • Features that depend on a video's duration — skip intro, custom overlays, chapters, timed links, video locking and ad cue points — now show a short notice explaining they become available once the video has a duration, instead of appearing broken. The chapters editor also adds the first chapter automatically as soon as the duration is known.

  • FIX: The upload-complete notification now refreshes the list matching the uploaded file's type, so an audio upload no longer reloads the videos list and vice versa.

  • FIX: Turning a webhook on or off now updates its state correctly in the webhooks list.

  • FIX: Audio previews now always play the HLS stream instead of whichever file happened to be listed first.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where a playlist's backup videos were never added when the playlist returned fewer videos than requested.

Mobile / Responsive​

  • Feature: Mobile Layouts for Webhooks, Geoblocking Rules, Wrappers and Whitelists

    • These pages now work properly on a phone, using the card layout already in place for flags and API keys — with the mobile header, search, bulk delete and a floating create button. Webhooks shows the list first; tapping a webhook opens its details full width. Wrapper forms and details now use the full screen width, with price granularity rows and bidder parameters stacking neatly.

  • Update: Infinite Scroll on More Lists

    • Custom reports, live videos, usage history, flags, webhooks, geoblocking rules and wrappers now keep loading as you scroll, matching the behaviour already in place for videos, audios, podcasts and playlists.

  • Update: Whitelists, geoblocking rules and wrappers now have a refresh button in the mobile header, and mobile lists show placeholder cards while loading instead of a spinner over stale results.

  • FIX: Opening a wrapper no longer shows empty fields while it loads.

  • FIX: Rotating the phone no longer leaves the webhooks list blank.

Video Player · v2.8.1​

  • Feature: Keyboard and Screen Reader Support

    • The player can now be operated entirely from the keyboard, and its controls describe themselves to screen readers — including the seekbar, volume, settings menu and related-videos panel. Viewers who request reduced motion get the player without decorative animation, and every assistive-technology string is localisable through the language configuration.

  • Feature: Mobile Mute Toggle

    • Mobile viewers now get a dedicated mute toggle, with redesigned volume icons.

  • Update: The seekbar now advances smoothly during on-demand playback instead of stepping forward a few times a second.

  • Update: Playlist entries now honour a per-item start time, rather than applying it only to the first video.

  • Update: A subtitle track that fails to load is now skipped and marked unavailable instead of disabling subtitles for the whole video.

  • FIX: Resolved casting issues — later cast sessions on a page not resuming content after an ad, a crash when auto-joining a running cast session, and disconnecting from a cast device rewinding local playback to the start.

  • FIX: Per-bidder CPM adjustments are now applied when bidders are configured on the video.

  • FIX: Locked videos now rest on their lock screen instead of showing the error screen and reloading in the background, and live players no longer stay stuck reconnecting after being unlocked.

  • FIX: Quartile and view events no longer fire in a burst when playback starts from a saved position, and the before-complete event now fires on every playthrough rather than only the first.

  • FIX: Switching streams repeatedly during failover no longer causes repeated seeks and loading-screen flicker.

  • FIX: A timed overlay now reappears after seeking back into its time window.

  • FIX: The volume icon is no longer clipped on iOS.

  • FIX: The quality mark is now hidden while the stream quality is not yet known.

Vertical Player · v1.7.6​

  • Feature: Banner Ad Auto-Advance

    • Banner ads can now auto-advance to the next video with a visible countdown, with clearer banner visibility states.

  • Update: Improved banner ad rendering, loading and navigation handling across the Google Publisher Tag and VAST integrations.

  • Update: Banner ads no longer lock swipe navigation — viewers can always swipe on to the next video while a banner is showing, even one with an auto-advance countdown.

  • FIX: A deferred banner ad request is now tied to its own ad opportunity, so it can no longer surface on the wrong video.

  • FIX: The banner ad unit path is now derived from the page context, and the player no longer overrides page-level ad settings.
