The new release will include the upgrades, features, and issue fixes listed below:

  • Feature: Multi-Project Playlists with Per-Project Folder Selection

    • A playlist can now combine content from several projects at once, and each project decides its own contribution — its entire video library, or only the folders you select. This makes it possible to curate one playlist across separate content libraries.

  • Update: Configurable Banner Ad Auto-Advance

    • The banner ad auto-advance behaviour introduced in the previous release can now be configured from the administration when setting up a banner waterfall, with the delay capped at 90 seconds.

Video Player · v2.9.1​

  • Update: Timed Link Display Improvements

    • Timed link labels are now positioned dynamically based on the space available in the player, so they remain fully visible at any player size. The player controls also remain on screen while the pointer is over a timed link, making the link easier to select.

  • Update: Redesigned Player Icons

    • The icon font is replaced with crisp SVG icons following the new design specification, including a new share icon.

  • UPGRADE: The player now ships with hls.js 1.7.1 bundled instead of loading it at runtime, with retuned live playback settings — faster, more reliable startup for streams.

  • FIX: Custom overlays now appear correctly on every video in a playlist instead of only the first.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where playback failed after starting and ending an AirPlay session on natively loaded sources.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where DRM-protected playback failed when a FairPlay key expired — the session is now rebuilt automatically.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where recovering from a stall skipped over a second of content, and player instances are now released properly.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where the play/pause indicator reappeared after toggling the controls or the related-videos panel.

  • FIX: Restored the Alt+1 to Alt+9 keyboard shortcuts for switching audio tracks.

Vertical Player · v1.8.5​

  • Feature: Keyboard and Screen Reader Support

    • The vertical player can now be operated entirely from the keyboard and describes itself to screen readers, matching the video player. A new keyboardShortcuts configuration option lets integrators disable the shortcuts, and key presses the player does not handle are passed through to the page.

  • Update: Banner Ad Lifecycle Improvements

    • A banner creative is now paused and resumed rather than destroyed when it leaves and re-enters the screen, playback stops when the viewer moves away from the banner, and a held banner replays reliably when it returns — including banners not tied to a video.

  • Update: Timed Link Display Improvements

    • Timed links now remain visible while the pointer is over them, stay available while the player overlay auto-hides, and adapt to the player layout.

  • Update: Redesigned Player Icons

    • The CDN-hosted icon font is replaced with bundled SVG icons, so icons render crisply without depending on an external font download.

  • UPGRADE: The player now ships with hls.js 1.7.1 bundled instead of fetching an older version from the CDN — faster, more reliable startup for streams.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where switching videos in quick succession could skip a video instead of reloading it.

  • FIX: Restored the stalled event when playback stalls.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where a video scheduled for a future publish date could play before becoming available.

  • FIX: Media playback errors are now detected on all playback paths, including Safari, so the player recovers or advances to the next video instead of failing silently.

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where a locked video could advance the feed instead of remaining on its lock screen.

  • FIX: Quartile playback events now fire accurately — milestones due at the same time are all reported, starting a video mid-way does not trigger a burst of events, and replays report their milestones again.

  • FIX: A subtitle track that fails to load is now skipped and removed from the settings menu instead of disabling subtitles for the whole video.

  • FIX: Playback speed selection is now disabled during livestreams, where the player manages the rate for latency correction, and is available again on the next on-demand video.
